Want a nice snare drum sound? Crush a plastic bottle and record it. TRy it with a crisp/chip packet too.
I like to slow down a song about ten times and then speed it back up to its original velocity. YOu can do it the other way and speed it up and then slow it down. The process destroys the sound and creates a new one. I turned a snare drum sample into a guitar note doing this.
